Perennial; rhizomes long; stem 30-120 cm, compressed-triquetrous, solitary; leaves 4-10 mm broad, subequal to or exeeding stem; spicelets 5-20 (30) x 2-3,5 mm lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate petant with 8-30 flowers; rachilia not winged; style deeply bifi.
