    Deciduous, twining shrub 12-30 m tall, diam. 1-3 cm, older shoots brownish, verrucose, contains milk sap; leaves coriacea, elliptic to ovate-lanceolate, apex acute or acuminate, base broadly cuneate to rounded, cymes 3-15 flowered; corolla lobes purplish-.
