Thallus corticolous, crustose, poorly defined, brownish, esorediate; apothecia black, deformed, epruinose, plane; epihymenium bluish-green to brown; hypothecium brown; ascospores 8-per ascus, 2-celled, hyaline, upper cell larger, 15-18 x 4.5-6fj.m; all tissues KOH-.
