Habitat
Open pasture from original tree and scrub woodland form of cerrado on deep red loamy latersol, slightly stony soil originating from sandstone. Cerrado. Large population here.

Description
Prostrate herb with decumbent inflorescences. Flowers yellow, closing by 12:10 pm. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Notes (shown on label)
"On partly cloudy day with scattered showers the only insect visitors seen Pieridae butterflies. Population sample under this no. W. excelsa collected 2 km away with W. bracteosa.
