    United States of America. Florida. Polk Co. To the E side of Deadins Pine Swamp, along the W side of Billig Road, about 0.75 mile S of the intersection with Degagne Road and 1.85 miles N of the intersection with Harrison Road.

  • Habitat

    On a gentle W-facing slope. In a forested seepage slope wetland, burned about two months earlier. With Eragrostis atrovirens, Ilex glabra, Lachnanthes caroliana, Oclemena reticulata(Aster reticulatus), Osmunda cinnamomea, Panicum abscisum, Pinus elliottii, Pinus elliottii X P. serotina, Pteridium aquilinum, Rubus argutus, Serenoa repens, Smilax laurifolia and Sphagnum sp. Locally common and otherwise rare, about 30 trees of this speies seen in this area. In moist to wet sandy organic soil (Smyrna and Myakka fine sands; sandy, siliceous, hyperthermic Aeric Alaquods).

    Tree, 60 ft. x 18 inches. Tree, 60 ft. tall, trunk diameter 18 inches. This is approximately the southern range limit of this species. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
