"Mosquito Narrows," Mosquito Ridge, just N of Mosquito Ridge Road (Forest Road 96), just E of the intersection with a dirt road going to the NW, about 5.9 miles from the parking lot at the Placer County Big Tree Reserve and about 18.9 miles E of the intersection of Road 96 and Forest Hill Road.

Habitat
At the crest of a N-facing slope and just above an old mining sluiceway. In a forest. With Abies concolor, Arctostaphylos mewukka (?), Ceanothus integerrimus, Ceanothus prostratus, Chamaebatia foliosa, Goodyera oblongifolia, Lithocarpus densiflorus var. echinoides, Pinus attenuata, Pinus lambertiana, Pseudotsuga menziesii and Quercus kelloggii. Common. On gravelly loam (Mariposa-Jocal complex. 30 to 75 percent slopes; fine-loamy, mixed, mesic Ruptic-Lithic-Xerochreptic to Typic Haploxerults).
