Habitat
With Deschampsia flexuosa, Lespedeza hirta, Lonicera tartarica (?), Lupinus perennis, Quercus velutina, Pinus nigra, Pinus strobus, Pinus sylvestris, Rubus hispidus and Schizachyrium scoparium. Rare. In sandy soil Colonie loamy fine sand, 0 to 6 percent slopes; mixed. mesic Lamellic Udipsamments).

Tree, 35 ft x 1 f. Tree, 35 ft. tall, trunk diameter 1 ft. One of very few trees of this species left in a remnant pine barrens and oak savanna. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
