United States of America. California. Shasta Co. To the N sode of a bend in Bidwell Road on Murken Bench, E of a large lava field and W of Hat Dreek Rim. Lassen National Forest.

Habitat
In a pasture and shrubby savanna. With Artemisia tridentata, Ceanothis cuneatus, Cercis occidentalis, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Pinus ponderosa (rare), Pinsu sabiniana and Quercus garryana. In very rocky loam over basalt (Durixerolls-Bobbitt family, moderatley deep, Gwin-family association, 0 to 35 percent slopes; Bobbitt = loamy-skeletal, isotic, mesic Vitrandic Argixerolls; Gwin = loamy-skeletal, mixed, superactive, mesic Lithic Argixerolls).

shrubby, 3-trunked tree, 15 ft. x 8 inches. Shrubby, 3-trunked tree, 15 ft. tall, largest trunk diameter 8 inches, some trees parasitized by Phoradendron densum. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
