Soil loam and volcanic rock, dry. Exposure sun. Edge of valley, broken up volcanic rock on hillside.

Description
Herb 5 ¾" tall. Roots 1 ½" long. Stems erect with prickles surrounding the calyx. Leaves 1 - 1 ¼" long. Flower violet radially symmetrical, star-like, 5 united petals, 5 anthers-4 yellow ¼" long, 1 yellow green ½" long. Flower 1 ¾" wide. Measurements from fresh plant.
