Habitat
Coastal rain forest with leaf litter. Damp roadside through partially burnt forest clearings. This plant growing at edge of clearing in forest.

Description
Tree to 9 m. with round smooth grey trunk. Leaves dark green above, pale greyish-green below with rusty veins. Petioles and inflorescence axis dull fawn. Flowers with persistent showy white bracts at base. Petals rather fleshy, translucent white with yellow base. Stamens entirely bright yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
