Mexico. Jalisco. Reserva Biosfera Sierra de Manantlán. Along brecha (old road) from Lagunilla down to steep ESE-facing slope of Cerro Grande to Campo Cuatro; 2-6 km N and above Campo Cuatro (Camp 4 of the old German logging railroad). 18-23 km NW of Colima.

Habitat
Dry summer green deciduous woodland dominated by Bursera spp. from ca. 1880 to 1200 m (mostly at 1500-1300) on very rocky steep slopes of limestone with more humid (bamboo) forest along arroyos in valleys and depressions.

Description
Leafless, prickly vine, the green fruits the size and shape of a small chicken egg speckled with white. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
