Premontane wet (garua) secondary forest, under shade. Infrequent. Death tree trunk.

Description
Parasitic. Fleshy, soft and fragile, white farinose-pulverulent (sticky to the touch) mushrooms; growing on dead erect tree trunk, c. 40-80 cm tall. Thallus erect, 4.5-7 cm x 3-4 mm. Umbrella c. 6-7 cm diam, centrally mucronate on the adaxial side. Basal bulb globose-elliptic, c. 15 x 12-13 mm. Spores white. Spores are dextrinoid (brownish in Melzer's reagent, with a fine blackish outline); elliptic-subfusiform (lemon-shaped); 9 X 5.5 to 10 X 7 µ; apiculous and germ pore present; cell wall about 1µ (broadest toward the apiculous end) [Spores description fide Gene Yetter].
