Location
Puerto Rico. Cordillera Central; Cerro La Torrecilla, northwest of Barranquitas, on Rt. 156 then north on Rt. 770, ca. 1.5 mi, then hiking up mountain (just to east of rd.); peak with radio towers visible from road; "peak#2," the lower peak, and lower adj. slopes.

Habitat
Moist montane forest; fragmented due to agriculture; forest limited to peak itself. Prestoea montana conspicuous; with Tetrazygia urbanii, Mecranium latifolium, Hetertrichum (=Clidemia) cymosum, Miconia subcompressa, M. laevigata, M. racemosa.

Description
Shrub to ca. 1.5 m tall; flowers with white petals and anthers; fruits blue-black; common. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
