I feel very diffident about proposing a new species in the
genus Bryopsis, but this slender, delicate species, seemingly
simple or very nearly so, with its axis surrounded on all sides
by thickly placed slender ramuli, seems so different from any-
thing described that I am compelled to propose it as new.
