Habitat
Annual rainfall 7400 mm., rel. hum. 86%, average temp. 22-30°C. Along the riverains at high waterlevel, primary tropical lowland rainforest.

Description
Tree, 15 m tall. Flower buds light greenish yellow, including the bracts. Leaves alternate, with a dark, almost black petiole; dark green above, costa partly light green; beneath dull, pale green. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
