Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Referred to Geoview.info website for location information of Ilha Piranhas (http://br.geoview.info/ilha_piranha,3662832). There are numerous small, unnamed islands in this region; georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of the main island assumed to be Ilha de Piranhas, in Piranhas, Amazonas. Using the reference map and Google Maps - Satellite View, located the geographic center of Ilha Piranhas in Rio Solimões. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of Ilha de Piranhas. Because the island has defined spatial boundaries, used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to find the linear extent of the island by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the island. Used the linear extent as the uncertainty radius.
