Location
Australia. New South Wales. 'Sunnyside', Bingara-Upper Bingara Rd., 2.5 km from Fossickers Highway, Bingara.

Habitat
Roadside pasture paddock, situated below a steep serpentine ridge dominated by cypress pine. Serpentine and limestone geology. With scattered Eucalyptus trees. Only one plant seen. Plant growing in gravel substrate about 10 m from road edge in shade of a tall eucalypt.

Description
Erect shrubby plant with divided leaves and large, showy, purple flowers. Fruit pods large, light green streaked dark green. Spines numerous, very long and slender. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
