Description
Tree 20-22 m. high. Petal bright gentain blue with small darker blue spots on either side of a median white stripe which darkens to reddish brown as flower fades. Visited by bees and humming birds, sweetly scented. Sepals and spur dark bluish purple. Bark light greyish brown, c. 1.5 cm. thick, rough and scaling below longitudinally fissured above. Wood orange brown with whitish efflorescence at surface of wood. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
