Habitat
Low-tree & scrub woodland cerrado with trees 3 (-4) m. tall. (Thicker-trunked trees very few & only to 6 m. tall.) Some parts lack trees thereby forming open scrub. Not burned last season.

Description
Shrub 4 m. tall. Capsules dull red, each with one shining black seed. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
