    In cleft between sandstone outcrops. Steep-sided grassy, shrubby, or wooded slopes with sandstone outcrops, sloping down to a deep, shaded box canyon with vertical walls and subterranean drainage.

    Tree ca. 8 m. tall; petals and stamens white; flowers slightly fragrant. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
