Dear Jim and Barbara,
It is my sad duty to communicate that my former botany teacher, colleague and friend Dr. JAIME JARAMILLO passed away this past Saturday Oct 9, in Quito, Ecuador, of a massive heart attack.
You may have met him at the Catholic University herbarium (QCA), went to the field, collaborated or have studied and described many of his collections, Above all he was a great teacher, botanist, and friend, and leaves a legacy of hundreds of students who participated in botany classes and field work during his 25+ years of teaching at the QCA herbarium.
