  Árbol de hojas caducas de 30 pies de alto y 10 pulgadas de diámetro en el tronco. Se distingue por el follaje plumoso, ramas extendidas y flores blancas vistosas. Es planta melífera. Las raíces con olor y sabor picante se han empleado como condimento y diurético. El aceite de las semillas ha controlado la sarna y algunas condiciones de la piel. Las hojas, tallos jóvenes e inflorescencia trituradas han controlado la calvicie. Se ha cultivado como árbol ornamental y para cercas. Escapado del cultivo ha crecido silvestre en las costas de Puerto Rico y la Isla de Vieques. Nativo de la India está distribuido en los trópicos del Mundo. Tree of caduceus leaves of 30 feet of height and 10 inches of diameter in the trunk. It is characterized by a plumed foliage, extended branches, and attractive white flowers. It is a melliferous plant. The roots, with scent and sharp flavor, have been used like condiment and as diuretic. The oil of the seeds controls scabies and some conditions of the skin. Crushed young leaves, stems and inflorescence have controlled baldness. It has been cultivated as an ornamental tree and for fences. It has grown wild in the coasts of Puerto Rico and the Island of Vieques. Native of India, it is distributed in the tropics+ of the World.
