  Arbusto caduco de ramas esbeltas que puede medir hasta 12 pies de alto y 2 pulgadas de diámetro en el tronco. Posee hojas con bordes serrados, flores blancas fragrantes acampanadas en la base de las hojas y semillas en cápsulas. Se puede encontrar en las bajuras y bosques calizos secos de Puerto Rico y la Isla de Vieques. Está distribuido en algunas islas de las Antillas Menores.
