• Description

  Bejuco leñoso trepador que puede medir 15 pies de extensión. Posee hojas compuestas, flores amarillas en racimos y frutos oblongos en forma de legumbre. Las hojas han sido usadas como laxante. Esta especie puede ser observada a orillas de carreteras, pastizales, áreas húmedas, secas y colinas de elevaciones bajas especialmente al este de Puerto Rico y las Islas de Culebra y Vieques. Está distribuida en las Antillas, América Tropical e introducida al Viejo Mundo. Ligneous climbing reed that can measure fifteen feet of extension. It has compound leaves, yellow flowers in racemes, and oblong fruits in legume form. The leaves have been used as laxatives. This species can be found along borders of highways, thickets, and hills at low elevations and in humid and dry areas especially to the East of Puerto Rico and the Islands of Culebra and Vieques. It is distributed in the Antilles, Tropical America and has been introduced to the Old World.
