  Planta de tallos con hojas carnosas y corolas en forma de lamparitas orientales. Se ha usado como flor de corte. Crece silvestre en riberas de ríos, terrenos baldíos o cultivados, regiones secas y húmedas a elevaciones medias de Puerto Rico. Está distribuida en las Islas Vírgenes, Bermudas, Indias Occidentales, Florida, América Tropical y el Viejo Mundo. Plant of fleshy stems, leaves, and corolla in form of Eastern lamps. It has been used as a cut flower. It grows wild along the shores of the rivers, in fallow or cultivated lands, and in dry and humid region at medium elevations of Puerto Rico. It is distributed in the Virgin Islands, Western Florida, Bermuda, the West Indies, Tropical America, and the Old World.
