  Planta anual de hojas delgadas, flores azules a moradas y a veces blancas en espigas y frutos como nuececillas. En remedios caseros se ha usado contra el eczema, heridas, hemorroides, sarna y cálculos renales. Esta especie es común en terrenos húmedos cultivados o abandonados de la Isla. Se encuentra también en Florida, América Tropical, las Indias Occidentales y el Viejo Mundo. Annual plant of thin leaves, blue to mulberry and sometimes white flowers, and fruit like small nut. In home remedies, it has been used against eczema, wounds, hemorrhoids, scabies, and kidney stones. This species is common in cultivated or abandoned humid areas of the Island. It also grows in Florida, Tropical America, the West Indies, and the Old World.
