  Árbol siempre verde de ramas esbeltas que puede crecer hasta 35 pies de alto y 8 pulgadas de diámetro en el tronco. Posee hojas gruesas tiesas dentadas, flores apiñadas levemente fragantes pequeñas amarillentas o blanco verdosas y frutos duros amarillo verdoso. Es planta dioica. Esta especie habita en los bosques del litoral puertorriqueño y las Islas de Caja de Muerto, Icacos, Vieques, Culebra y Culebrita. Está distribuido en las Antillas, México, Panamá y Venezuela. Evergreen tree with svelte branches that can grow to thirty-five feet in height and eight inches of diameter in the trunk. It has thick stiff dented leaves, small yellow or white greenish slightly fragrant flowers in a clustered arrangement, and a greenish yellow hard fruit. This is a dioecious species. This species inhabits the costal forests of Puerto Rico, Caja de Muerto, Icacos, Vieques, Culebra, and Culebrita. It is distributed in the Antilles, Mexico, Panama, and Venezuela.
