  Planta anual que puede medir 3 pies de alto de tallo tetragonal, hojas lobuladas y flores blancas con el centro amarillo localizadas en cabezuelas. En infusiones se ha utilizado para estimular la menstruación y como expectorante. Las hojas masticadas controlan las aftas bucales. Esta especie herbácea es común en los campos puertorriqueños y regiones tropicales y subtropicales. Annual plant that can grow to three feet in height. It has a tetragonal stem, lobed leaves, and white flowers with a yellow center arranged as buds. Its infusions have been used to induce menstruation and as an expectorant. Its leaves when chewed control mouth cankers. This herbal species is common in the fields of Puerto Rico and in the Tropical and Subtropical regions.
