    Scrub thickets, forest clearings, roadsides, on Galapagos a pioneer in malpais, locally abundant on the Pacific lowlands and Andean foothills below 600 m in s.-w. Ecuador (Guayas), n.-w. Peru (Piura) and the Galapagos archipelago (Is. Fernandina, Isabela, San Salvador, Sta. Cruz, Sta. Maria, San Cristobal).—Fl. III-VII(-XII), probably throughout the year unless drought-inhibited.
