  Árbol siempre verde de 8 a 40 pies de alto y 8 pulgadas de diámetro en el tronco. Se distingue por las flores blancas estrechas tubulares lobuladas dispuestas en un eje como una horqueta y frutos negros. La madera se utiliza para postes. Este árbol es endémico de los bosques de las montañas del este de Puerto Rico. Evergreen tree of eight or 40 feet of height and 8 inches of diameter in the trunk. It is characterized by the white narrow tubular lobed flowers arranged in a forked axis, and black fruits. The wood is used for posts. This tree is endemic of forests of the mountains of the East of Puerto Rico.
