  Orquídea robusta terrestre de tallos cortos subterráneos, hojas largas finas deciduas, inflorescencia que puede extenderse hasta tres pies de largo y frutos verdes cilíndricos con miles de semillas que parecen polvo. Esta planta puede estar florecida por varios meses. Se puede observar en riscos, bancos de tierra, áreas abiertas, bosques calizos húmedos, la bajura de la Cordillera Central en elevaciones medias y altas del oeste de la Isla. Está distribuida en las Antillas y Florida. Terrestrial robust orchid with short underground stems, fine long deciduous leaves, an inflorescence that can extend to three feet of length, and cylindrical green fruits with thousands of seeds similar to dust. This plant can bloom during several months. It can be found in soil banks, cliffs, opened areas at medium and high elevations of the West of the Island, in the humid calcareous forests, and the lowlands of the Central Mountain Range. It is distributed in the Antilles and Florida.
