  Planta herbácea anual de tallo tetragonal pubescente, hojas ovadas de margen dentado, flores en racimos con corolas azules, violeta o púrpura y fruto lineal. Crece en colinas, campos y terrenos baldíos en elevaciones bajas de Puerto Rico y las Islas de Caja de Muerto y Culebra. Está distribuida en Estados Unidos, las Bahamas, Antillas y desde México hasta el norte de América del Sur. Annual herbaceous plant of pubescent tetragonal stem, ovate leaves of dented margin, flowers in mallets with blue violet purple corollas, and linear fruit. It grows in hills, uncultivated fields, and lands at low elevations of Puerto Rico and the Islands of Caja de Muerto and Culebra. It is distributed in the United States, Bahamas, and the Antilles and from Mexico to the north of South America.
