  Arbusto de 12 pies de alto con tallos con ramas jóvenes pubescentes, hojas ovadas serradas, inflorescencia axilar y flores de pétalos rosados, púrpura o blancos. Crece en bancos de ríos, colinas y montes en elevaciones bajas y medias de Puerto Rico y las Islas de Vieques y Culebra. Está distribuido en las Bahamas, Antillas y desde México a Brasil. Shrub of 12 feet of height of stems with pubescent young branches, serrated ovate leaves, axilar inflorescence, and flowers of pink, purple, or white petals. It grows along riverbanks, hills, and mounts at low and medium elevations of Puerto Rico and the Islands of Vieques and Culebra. It is distributed in Bahamas, the Antilles and from Mexico to Brazil.
