  Planta herbácea o arbustiva aromática pubescente con flores amarillas y frutos en cápsulas. La infusión de las hojas y flores ha servido como expectorante. Se encuentra en bancos de ríos, arenas costeras, campos arenosos, colinas y terrenos baldíos en elevaciones bajas y medias en Puerto Rico y las Islas de Vieques y Culebra. Está distribuida en las Antillas, Florida y América Tropical. Aromatic pubescent herbaceous plant or shrub with yellow flowers and fruits in capsules. The infusion of the leaves and flowers has served like an expectorant. It is found along riverbanks, in sands of sandy coasts, fields, hills, and uncultivated lands at low and medium elevations in Puerto Rico and the Islands of Vieques and Culebra. It is distributed in the Antilles, Florida, and Tropical America.
