  Arbusto ramificado aromático de hojas pequeñas dentadas con venas prominentes pubescentes, flores solitarias amarillas axilares y frutos en cápsulas. Las hojas e inflorescencia tienen compuestos volátiles de olor muy aromático y agradable usado para darle sabor a los licores. Se ha usado en baños aromáticos, fricciones, como estimulante nervioso, diurético, astringente y afrodisíaco. Se encuentra en montes costeros, colinas rocosas y zonas secas del suroeste en elevaciones bajas de Puerto Rico. Está distribuido en las Bahamas, Antillas y América Tropical. Aromatic grafted shrub of small leaves teethed with pubescent prominent veins, axilar yellow solitary flowers, and fruits in capsules. The leaves and the inflorescence have very aromatic volatile compounds of a pleasant scent used to give flavor to liquors. It has been used in aromatic baths, frictions, like a nervous stimulant, as a diuretic, astringent, and aphrodisiac. It is in coastal mounts, rocky hills, and dry zones of the Southwest at low elevations of Puerto Rico. It is distributed in the Bahamas, the Antilles and Tropical America.
