  Planta herbácea ramificada con hojas pubescentes, flores blancas pequeñas gemelas y frutos en cápsulas ovaladas. En infusión se usa para tonificar el sistema digestivo, facilitar la digestión, controlar los vómitos, cólicos gastrointestinales y flatulencia. No debe usarse continuamente ni en forma concentrada porque puede tener efectos tóxicos. Crece en campos, terrenos cultivados y baldíos en Puerto Rico. Está distribuida en América Tropical e introducido al Viejo Mundo. Grafted herbaceous plant with pubescent leaves, small white twinflowers, and fruits in oval capsules. In infusion is used to strengthen the digestive system, to facilitate the digestion, to control gastrointestinal vomits, colics, and flatulence. It should not be used in a continuous or concentrated form because it can have poisonous effects. It grows in fields, cultivated and uncultivated lands in Puerto Rico. It is distributed in Tropical and introduced America to the Old World.
