  Arbusto de 12 a 15 pies de alto con hojas opuestas lustrosas, flores azules en racimos y frutos en drupas amarillo anaranjado. Posee sustancias tóxicas en los frutos, semillas y corteza que pueden causar somnolencia, fiebre, convulsiones y disturbios circulatorios entre otros. Se encuentra en colinas y montes en elevaciones bajas y medias de Puerto Rico. Está distribuido en las Antillas, Florida y América Tropical. Shrub of 12 to 15 feet of height with opposed shiny leaves, blue flowers in mallets and fruits in one yellow orange drupe. It has toxic substances in the fruits, seeds, and crust that can cause somnolence, fever, convulsions, and circulatory problems among others. It is in hills and mounts at low and medium elevations of Puerto Rico. It is distributed in the Antilles, Florida and Tropical America.
