  Árbol siempre verde de 12 a 25 pies de alto y 4 pulgadas de diámetro en el tronco. Las hojas son elípticas alternas gruesas, flores blancas fragantes tubulares en un racimo floral terminal ramificado con corolas lobuladas redondeadas extendidas y frutos rojo anaranjado carnosos redondeados. Es planta melífera. La madera se ha usado como combustible. Se encuentra en las costas y bosques de la zona caliza y las Islas de Mona, Icacos y Culebra. Está distribuido en las Antillas y desde Panamá a Venezuela. Evergreen tree of 12 to 25 feet of height and 4 inches of diameter in the trunk. The leaves are thick alternating elliptical, the flowers fragrant tubular white in a terminal grafted floral cluster with round extended lobed corollas, and the fruits red orange fleshy and round. It is a melliferous plant. The wood has been used like fuel. It is found in the coast and the forests of the calcareous zone and the Islands of Mona, Icacos and Culebra. It is distributed in the Antilles and from Panama to Venezuela.
