  Árbol de 20 pies de alto y 4 pulgadas de diámetro en el tronco. Posee ramas largas esbeltas extendidas, flores de color púrpura vistosas apiñadas en forma de guisante y vainas estrechas. Es común en los bosques costeros húmedos, calizos húmedos y de la baja Cordillera Central en el norte de Puerto Rico y las Islas de Culebra y Vieques. Está distribuido en algunas islas de las Antillas Menores. Tree of twenty feet of height and 4 inches of diameter in the trunk. It has long svelte extended branches; attractive clustered purple flowers in the shape of peas, and narrow pods. It is common in the coastal humid and humid limestone forests and in the low Central Mountain range in the North of Puerto Rico and the Islands of Culebra and Vieques. It is distributed in some islands of the Lesser Antilles.
