  Árbol de quince pies de alto y 4 pulgadas de diámetro en el tronco. Se distingue por tener muchas ramas elegantes extendidas colgantes en los extremos, flores llamativas amarillo brillante y vainas largas estrechas achatadas. Ocasionalmente esta especie se ha cultivado para ornato. Crece en bosques secos de la costa sur y baja Cordillera Central de Puerto Rico. Se puede encontrar también en algunas islas de las Antillas Menores y La Española. Tree of fifteen feet of height and four inches of diameter in the trunk. It is distinguished because it has many elegant extended branches hanging at the ends, attractive shinny yellow flowers, and long narrow flattened pods. Occasionally this species is used for ornate. It grows in the dry forests of the South coast and the low Central Mountain range of Puerto Rico. It can also be found in some islands of the Lesser Antilles and Hispaniola.
