  Pubescence consisting of stellate trichomes on the abaxial leaf blade surface of Couratari asterophora based on Folli 6473 from the Reserva Natural Vale, Espírito Santo, Brazil. The center of the cluster appears ferruginous at the base. There is no apparent structural difference from the base to the apex of the cluster.The trichomes are not septate. From a herbarium specimen.
