  Pubescence consisting of stellate trichomes on the abaxial leaf blade surface of Couratari asterophora based on Folli 6473 from the Reserva Natural Vale, Espírito Santo, Brazil. The pubescence consists of a stellate arrangement of trichomes which are from 0.1 mm to 1 mm long. The center of the cluster appears ferruginous at the base. At this magnification the trichomes appear septate. From a herbarium specimen.
