  Trigona bees on a flower of Eschweilera biflava based on Reinaldo Aguilar 11387 from the Osa Peninsula, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Note the Trigona bees on the hood of the flower. These bees do not pollinate but instead chew into the hood to either eat the tissue or to get to the nectar.
