  Cross-section of a stipe of Dryopteris marginalis based on S. A. Mori & M. Rothman 28060 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve, Westchester Co., New York. There are two larger adaxial vascular bunds and a "smile" of five smaller bundles abaxially.
