  Medial longitudinal section of an androecium of Eschweilera panamensis based on Harmon 327 from the Osa Peninsula, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Rehydrated bud from herbarium sheet at NY. The coils are numbered from the outside inward. Note that their is a third coil starting to develop in this individual.
