  Basal view of a flower of Eschweilera biflava based on Reinaldo Aguilar 10613 from the Osa Peninsula, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Note the conspicuous bract scars at the base of the pedicel and the small, green bracteole just below the articulation of the pedicel.
