Apical (left) and basal right views of immature fruits of Lecythis mesophylla based on Aguilar et al. 11119 from the Osa Peninsula, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Note the relatively long style seen in apical view and the sulcate hypanthium seen in the basal view.
