  Fertile (bottom) and sterile (top) fronds of Polystichum acrosticoides based on S. A. Mori & M. Rothman 27947 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve, Westchester Co., New York. The fertile frond is only fertile for the upper third of the length of the frond.
