Manually opened flower of Viola sororia based on Mori 27898 from the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve, Westchester Co., New York. The lateral petals have a beard, the stamens have apical brown appendages, and the pistil is slightly sigmoid in orieintation.
