Description

Seedling of Lecythis tuyrana based on Mori collection number 1705. Planted at Summit Garden 9/24/74 and photographed 11/4/74. Panama. This species lacks cotyledons. The seed coat is still attached at the apex of the embryo and the eophylls have emerged. This species has a macropodial embryo, i.e., it is fleshy and not divided.
